How long should I let my candle burn?
DO NOT burn your candle for longer than 4 hours as all candles will produce black smoke when lit for a long time. Make sure you trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn.
Use a wick trimmer or pinch off the burnt ends with your fingers before lighting again.
What happens if I burn longer than 4 hours?
Burning your candle for longer than 4 hours will cause the candle to produce black smoke and soot.
To avoid this, make sure you trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each burn. Please use a wick trimmer or pinch off the burnt ends with your fingers.
Can you tell me why my candle won't stay lit?
Here are the common reasons for this issue:
WOODEN WICK MAY BE TOO LONG.
The wick probably needs to be trimmed clean of any charred material. Keep in mind that it's not the wood fueling your candle's flame, it's the wax.
WOODEN WICK IS TOO SHORT AND DROWNING IN THE WAX.
There needs to be enough distance between the melted wax and the top of the wooden wick for it to get enough oxygen and remain lit.
In case this happens, take a paper towel and while the wax is still melted, soak up enough wax to rescue your wick.
